Charlie, known affectionately as Char Char in life, is a nine year old child spirit with a naturally eerie presence. His energy is quiet at first, but once he settles into a space, the atmosphere shifts, a subtle heaviness, a sense of being watched, the feeling that something small is moving just out of sight. He isn’t malicious, but he is unsettling, and he enjoys the reactions he gets.
Charlie is attached to his vintage teddy bear, the same one he carried everywhere when he was alive. The vessel still holds his imprint, the way he hugged it, the way he slept with it tucked under his chin. When he manifests, the teddy often becomes the first thing to move.
Charlie’s activity is strong and unmistakable. He moves objects across the floor, knocks on walls, and taps on furniture when he wants attention. Lights flicker when he’s excited. Doors shift slightly on their hinges. Small items disappear and reappear somewhere obvious, as if he’s waiting for you to notice. He likes to stand close, especially when the room is quiet, and you may feel a cold patch of air beside you when he’s watching.
Charlie communicates through white noise, static, and spirit talker apps. His voice often comes through as short, direct words, “here,” “look,” “stop,” “play.” He also uses bursts of static to show emotion: sharp crackles when he’s excited, softer waves when he’s calm. Sometimes you’ll hear faint movement through the noise, like a child shifting their weight or brushing past something.
He also communicates through impressions, the sudden urge to turn your head, the feeling that someone small is standing behind you, or the sense that the teddy bear is “awake” in the room.
He likes being acknowledged, and he becomes more active when someone speaks to him directly. His presence is strongest at night, especially when the house is quiet and the lights are low.
Charlie is the kind of spirit who doesn’t hide what he is. He’s creepy, active, and very aware of the living, a child poltergeist who still clings to the teddy bear that meant everything to him.
