This is Hester, in 2006 Hester was discovered by 2 teenage girls….Cat & Ali. In an abandoned asylum. Cat had passed her driving test and the girls were on the road investigating.
The asylum itself seemed to breathe as they entered a slow exhale of cold air drifting down the hallways, carrying the faint sound of something tapping rhythmically on metal somewhere deep inside the building.
Ali, fearless, walked all over the asylum. She stopped at the top of the 3rd floor. She immediately felt a presence and called for her sister.
Behind her, a door that had been swollen shut for decades creaked open by an inch, as if something inside had been waiting for her to notice.
Cat came running and as she did she saw what Ali was seeing. Hester, an 18 year old girl in a tattered dirty hospital gown, dark messy hair. She turned and walked into one of the rooms. When the girls followed her they saw that Hester’s apparition was gone but a very old doll.
The doll’s glass eyes, cloudy with age, seemed to glint for a moment as if they had just moved. A faint whisper too soft to understand brushed past both girls’ ears at the same time.
Upon further investigation they decided to take Hester’s doll home with them. Hester’s spirit manifests around her doll. She can speak through her doll and it sounds as if the voice is coming from the doll. She will catch you off guard when she does this.
Sometimes the doll’s head turns slightly when no one is looking. Sometimes you’ll hear the patter of bare feet on the floorboards, even though the room is empty.
Hester has communicated that she was admitted into the asylum for having the ability to communicate with the dead and see spirits. She wants to help another person to communicate with the dead and pass on messages. If you take her ghost hunting you will see her apparition guide you. Follow her as she leads you to haunted items and places.
But be prepared: lights flicker when she’s near, cold spots bloom in warm rooms, and shadows stretch in directions they shouldn’t. She doesn’t mean harm but the dead she speaks to don’t always share her gentle intentions.
