Marellie is a highly active spirit with a presence that becomes obvious the moment she enters a home. She was found outside someone’s house, sitting on the ground as if she had been waiting for someone to notice her. A young girl picked her up, thinking she was just a lost item. That same night, the activity began, sudden, intense, and impossible to ignore.
Curtains moved, a small figure stood next to the doll, the doll moved positions, knocks on doors, whispers and the tv turned on and off.
In life, Marellie was a quiet, observant child who kept to herself. She lived in a small rural area and often wandered alone. One evening she went missing, and by the time she was found, she had passed away from exposure after being caught outside in harsh weather. Her spirit didn’t fade, she attached herself to this doll. This doll belonged to her mother.
Her mother handed her to someone who she thought would look after Marellie but instead they put her outside in the cold and a kind little girl picked her up.
Marellie’s activity is strong and very different from other spirits. Lights don’t flicker, they surge brighter for a moment, then dim sharply. Electronics turn on at full volume, then shut off as if someone yanked the power. Doors don’t slam; they slowly creak open on their own, even when fully latched.
One of her most distinct behaviors is shadow duplication. When someone walks past a light source, their shadow appears normally, but a second shadow follows a moment later, slightly smaller, slightly delayed, as if Marellie is mimicking their movements. This happens even when she isn’t visible.
She is also known to manifest as a small figure in rooms you are in.
She also has a habit of appearing in reflections before she appears in the room. Mirrors, windows, dark screens, you might see a thin girl with long hair standing behind you, but when you turn around, the space is empty. A few seconds later, you may hear soft breathing or feel a cold spot near your shoulder.
Marellie communicates in unusual ways. EVP sessions often pick up the sound of someone breathing too close to the microphone or the faint rustle of clothing, as if she’s standing right beside the recorder. She speaks words, they are short and whispered usually your name or a single phrase like “wait” or “don’t go.” She also uses reflections, a tap on the shoulder and sudden temperature drops to get attention, making her presence known.
Her energy is intense. Marellie attaches quickly to those who acknowledge her, and once she feels connected, she stays close. Her activity is constant, unpredictable, and unmistakable, the kind of presence that changes the entire atmosphere of a home the moment she arrives.
